Originally from Normal, Illinois and moved to Memphis in 1985.
1986 - 1988:
The list of forgettable bands is oh so long!
1988 - 1990:
Two good groups. First was Linda Heck and The Train Wreck, featuring
all original songs by Linda Heck. Next was Hot Joe, a quartet that
quickly became popular at art openings and rehearsal dinners.
1990-1991:
Toured with Alex Chilton as a solo artist as well as in the Box Tops.
1991 - Present:
Have played with such notables as Billy Lee Riley, BB Cunningham,
DiAnne Price & Her Boyfriends, Sun Rhythm Section,
Paul Burlison, The Coolers and, The Midtown Jazzmobile.
Over the last two decades I've played with many well known local jazz
musicians such as Gene Rush, Tom Lonardo, Tony Thomas, Jim Spake,
Rene Koopman, Charlie Wood, Fred Ford, Joyce Cobb,
Herman Green, Gary Johns and Michael Jefry Stevens.
I am currently in the house band at Earnestine and Hazels.
We call it The Earnestine & Hazel's Band. (Original, yes?)
I've played with a lot of other local Memphis legends at one time or another.
Buy me a Makers Mark on the rocks and I'll run down the list with you.
My one true talent? If it was on the radio during the 70's I can probably play it.
If it was on the hit parade from 1919 to 1985 I can probably fake it.
As for the 90's and beyond....it could get ugly.
