Peter DeGloma
Keyboard/Vocals

Peter DeGloma began playing the piano at age four in New Orleans; that same year he began taking lessons from Dr. Barbara Howser who, after taking Peter on as a student, rewrote the book on pedagogy as it pertained to what age children can begin training in method and theory.

Over the next 15 years Peter continued to take lessons from seven instructors including jazz theory from Bill Chapin in Chicago and classical piano from Brenda Gerlipp in New Jersey. Peter attributes his diversity in style and technique to having learned from so many different pianists over the years.

Peter moved to Memphis in 1993, and from 1995-1998 he played with local band Yow.  During his Pacific tour in the Marine Corps, Peter sat in with The Almost Nuts Band in Korea, and played at a variety of night clubs throughout Okinawa.  While in Okinawa, Peter gave piano lessons to Marines and Dependent children of Marines at the local USO on Futenma Air Station.  After his tour, Peter returned to Memphis and has played with the Carlos Ecos Band, and has sat in with Kaleidoscope, Phil Barnes, and JD Westmoreland. His studio accomplishments include an LP with Yow, three solo projects, and an album that was co-written for the Andrew Scoggin Project.

Peter enjoys playing  for local causes such as the Art for Hope art sale benefiting the Hope House Day Care, and has taken time to play for the elderly at the Memphis Jewish Home. Peter currently is playing in an Elvis Presley tribute band, and is enrolled in the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis where he has a 4.0 GPA.
